What privacy settings does the Speech Evaluator support?

To start a speech evaluation using the Speech Evaluator, the user must first identify the speaker, identify the speech, and set up the evaluation.  During that process, the user selects the following privacy settings:

-      Speaker privacy: public or private

-      Speech privacy: public or private

-      Evaluation privacy: public or private

If the speaker privacy is set to public, the speaker's name and description can be seen by any user of the website.  If the speaker privacy is set to private, the speaker's name and description are only shown to the evaluator who is generating the evaluation as well as anyone invited by the evaluator.

Likewise, if the speech privacy is set to public, the speech title, description, and other speech identification information can be seen by any user of the website.  If the speech privacy is set to private, the speech title, description, and other identification information are only shown to the evaluator who is generating the evaluation as well as anyone invited by the evaluator.

Similarly, if the evaluation privacy is set to public, the evaluation can be seen by any user of the website.  If the evaluation privacy is set to private, the evaluation is only shown to the evaluator who is generating the evaluation as well as anyone invited by the evaluator.

In addition, privacy inheritance rules also apply.  A public speaker can have public speeches and private speeches; likewise, a public speech can have public evaluations and private evaluations.  On the other hand, a private speaker can only have private speeches but not public speeches; similarly, a private speech can only have private evaluations but not public evaluations.  In other words, it is not possible to have a public evaluation of a private speech, and it is not possible to have a public speech by a private speaker.

Note that privacy settings are available for evaluation functions only.  Within the rating function, all speakers and speeches are public.
