How do I rate and review a public speaker or presenter?

To rate and review a public speaker or presenter, from the home page or from most other pages, click the Rate Speaker button.  From the Rate Speaker page, type the name of the speaker/presenter (e.g., Kennedy) in the input field and click the Search button.

Alternatively, to generate a speaker rating and review, from the home page or from most other pages, click the Rate Speaker button.  From the Rate Speaker page, click Advanced Search.  From that page, you can search by speaker's name, speaker description (e.g., president), and/or previous rater (the user who performed the rating), then click the Search button.

After you click Search, a table will be displayed showing the speaker or speakers that match the search criteria as well as any speeches by the speaker(s).

To rate the speaker, click on the Rate button next to the speaker's name.

Alternatively, from the table, you can click on the speaker's rating to view the details of the rating; and from that page, you can rate the speaker by clicking the Rate Speaker button.

From the rate page, you can rate the speaker based on four rating criteria:

  • Overall rating: the overall rating of the speaker
  • Content rating: the rating of the speaker's content (what the speaker says)
  • Delivery rating: the rating of the speaker's delivery (how the speaker delivers, nonverbal communication including voice and body language)
  • Visuals rating: the rating of the speaker's slides, visual aids, and how they are presented – this rating is optional because some speakers don't use slides and visual aids.  Speakers are often called presenters when their speeches involve slides, just as speeches or talks with slides are often called presentations.

In addition, you can add comments about or a review of the speaker (speaker review), and you can choose whether or not to disclose your public alias name.  When you register with Rate Speeches to obtain a log-in account, at that time you can select a public alias name.  While rating, you can select to disclose your public alias name or not.  If you disclose it, then your public alias name will appear next to your rating in the speaker's ratings page.

The highest rating is five stars and the lowest is one star.

If there are no speakers in the database that match your search criteria, you can add and optionally rate the speaker.  You will be prompted to log in first, unless you are logged in already.  If you don't have an account, you can create one.
